If you’re trying to make or earn some money from Google’s AdSense program, you need to test the content that you are publishing. What I mean, is that what and how you write will have an influence in how likely someone is to click on an AdSense ad on your site.
Think of AdSense ads as “tiny classified ads” as the old time TV guy Don Lapre would say. These tiny ads are placed by Google based on your permission and the content on your site.
There are several guidelines and schools of thought as far as where to place the ads, but I feel that the content itself needs to lend itself to encouraging people to click on your ads. According to Google’s rules, you cannot tell people to click on the ads on the page. So, what you need to do, is test out how to write the content and place the ads in such a way as to encourage people to click on the ads, without tricking or telling people to click on the ad.
To do that, you need to test your content. Depending on the niche that you’re writing in, it could be beneficial to have a list of items that people can try and then place you ad at the bottom of that list. You could try splitting your content across multiple pages and get people used to clicking on a link on the page to read more, and then place your ad at the bottom of the page.
Try writing in shorter paragraphs, or include a text block for the ad within your paragraph. The point is, that you should try to blend the ad into your content as much as possible. Play around with the formatting of your text and with the ad placements and see which layout gives you the best results.
